A note on growing your own..

Growing some of our own food is one way to do some good in a world crying out for help. These actions, although small, can have a really positive effect on our environment, even if at times it seems like they won’t. It’s a little like the butterfly effect. It’s hard to imagine how the flutter of a single butterfly’s wings could contribute to a storm somewhere in the future, but apparently it can.

You don’t need acres of land or years of experience to grow a lovely selection of herbs, a courgette plant or even a tub of potatoes. These are ingredients that are simple to grow and will reward you in so many ways, not only in your cooking. Growing food encourages us to reconnect with the seasons and pay closer attention to the natural world around us. Every seed sown, every leaf unfurled and every flower opened offers something back.

But growing some of your own food is just one way we can help.
