At its heart is the Swedish FireSteel, a brilliantly dependable tool that throws a strong, consistent spark, even when it’s wet or the weather is working against you. It’s tough, travel safe and good for thousands of strikes, the sort of kit you come to trust completely.

Alongside it are resin rich MayaSticks. Shave a few curls and they catch quickly, releasing that wonderful scent of warm pine resin and burning long enough to build deep, steady embers, even when the wood around you is damp.

You’ll also find a small tin for collecting your own shavings. It arrives empty, ready for you to fill and keep close to hand, so when matches are damp and lighters have packed up you can still get a fire going.
